First off, I’d like to say - thank you - for tuning in and listening to the songs I’ve already shared from the album over the past few months. Thank you for the encouraging words you’ve sent me and for sharing these songs with others.

Second, I’d like to thank all the incredible friends credited below who helped me in making “Stories from Home”. Thank you for offering your gifts and collaborating with me to make something beautiful. I believe art is worship - a holy offering to our Creator - and I hear the joyful noise of your praise in every note and see it in every image captured for the songs on this album.

Finally, I’ve seen the power in giving work over and over again this year and the freedom that comes in pursuit of living a generous life. We can believe & rest in the promise of abundance over scarcity because we have a generous God - the giver of every good and perfect gift, who loved us so much that he gave his own son Jesus to save us from ourselves - so that we can have real, eternal life with him (yes - even right now!).

“Stories from Home” is my gift to you - I hope these songs inspire you, point you to Jesus, and encourage you to live a generous life too.

I recorded these old gospel songs alone, for the benefit of my own sanity, while quarantined at home during the early months of the Covid-19 outbreak of 2020.

I've since decided to share them here with anyone who may be interested. I hope these songs help you find comfort in the midst of turbulent times.

I believe these songs serve as a reminder that our true hope is in Jesus - He is the source of the love, peace, and joy we all desire.

TAMING THE WIND

Taming The Wind is JMB’s debut full-length album, self-produced and recorded in The Magic City - Birmingham, AL. On making the album, JMB notes, “my desire is to create well crafted songs – where honesty and genuine emotions dance over simple melodies.” Inspiration was drawn from the lives of those around him – friends and loved ones struggling with “life and everything that comes with it – the pain of loss, addiction, illness, and depression. We have a choice in how we respond to these challenges - there is always hope for better days - and we have the opportunity to comfort and encourage each other as we live through these experiences together.” He adds, “my hope is that these songs will connect with you – and play a positive part in the story of your life.”
